A pre-race sample was taken from Riverdale Danger.
Disco Lemonade was quick to begin. Montana Fernando, Joe Panther and Big Tilly were slow to begin.
Disco Lemonade and Cherokee Thunder collided approaching the first turn checking Cherokee Thunder. Riverdale Danger and Dyna Gunner collided on the first turn checking Dyna Gunner. Cherokee Thunder and Riverdale Danger collided approaching the home turn checking Cherokee Thunder. Dyna Gunner checked off Big Tilly approaching the home turn. Joe Panther raced wide on the home turn. Joe Panther crossed in in the home straight. Joe Panther eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Westbrook, the representative of the greyhound Joe Panther regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Joe Panther was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock sprain and left thigh injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Joe Panther with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Westbrook pleaded guilty to the charge, Joe Panther was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
