Steward's Report
Aston Bolt and Barcali were slow to begin.
Hunkapapa and Junior Wizard collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Kelly and Aston Bolt collided approaching the first turn. It's A Bull and Aston Bolt collided on the first turn checking Hunkapapa, Junior Wizard and severely checking It's A Bull, Aston Bolt and Barcali, Aston Bolt fell as a result, It's A Bull and Barcali subsequently tailed off. Zipping Kelly and Hunkapapa collided entering the back straight checking both greyhounds. Zipping Chang and Okay Kirsty collided approaching the third turn and on the third turn.
Aston Bolt was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right humerus fracture and was humanely euthanised.
It's A Bull was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained la spike wound to the left hind, left and right saddle soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Barcali was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right deltoids injuries, left and right saddle soreness, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Samples were taken from placegetters - Zipping Chang (1st) and Junior Wizard (2nd).
Stewards inspected the track in the area of the first turn, where Aston Bolt fell and it was safe and suitable for racing.
