A pre race sample was taken from True Value.
Clovally Granite, True Value and Gehring Bale were slow to begin. Rockstar Toovey and Dyna Jacinta collided soon after the start checking Dyna Jacinta. Yuko crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Dyna Jacinta and Rockstar Toovey. Shep checked off Crackerjack Nath approaching the first turn. Yuko and Crackerjack Nath approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Nath. Dyna Jacinta, True Value and Gehring Bale collided approaching the first turn. Shep, Dyna Jacinta, True Value and Gehring Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Dyna Jacinta and True Value; both greyhounds fell as a result. Gehring Bale and Shep collided on the thrird turn.
