Stewards spoke to Mr Brett Mackie, the trainer of Lully Singh, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lully Singh last raced on 3 December 2017.  Mr Mackie stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.  Mr Mackie also declared a new weight of 25.0 kgs for Lully Singh in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lully Singh last raced at 26.1 kgs.

Bejarano and So It Goes were slow to begin.  Lully Singh, Ita Louisa, So It Goes and Rapid Belle Noir collided on the first turn.  It's A Thrill and Tyche Onyx collided approaching the second turn.  Bejarano and Ita Louisa collided approaching the second turn.  So It Goes checked off Lully Singh on the second turn.  Rapid Belle Noir faltered and lost ground on the second turn.  Lully Singh raced wide in the back straight.  Staggerism faltered and lost ground in the back straight.  Staggerism and Rapid Belle Noir collided on the third turn, severely checking both greyhounds; causing Rapid Belle Noir to stumble and lose ground.  

Staggerism was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Rapid Belle Noir was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg sesamoid injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from It's A Thrill - the winner of the event.

Mr Ian Anderson, trainer of Dark Stealth, declared a new weight of 28.3 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Dark Stealth last raced at 27.2 kgs.

Something Black, Mayhem Breeze and Liberal Nunnio collided soon after the start.  Hayley Becca, Lady Emerald and Dark Stealth collided approaching the first turn, checking Lady Emerald and Dark Stealth.  Liberal Nunnio and Kip Moss collided on the first turn.  Lady Emerald, Dark Stealth and Something Black collided on the first turn.  Liberal Nunnio galloped on Dark Stealth approaching the home turn.  Dark Stealth and Kip Moss collided approaching the winning post.

So Apparent was slow to begin.  Hypo Chared crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Pacific Action and Pacific Beach, severely checking Alamo Mike.  Habana City and Street Artist collided approaching the first turn.  So Apparent, Buckle Up York and Hypo Chared collided on the first turn.  So Apparent and Hypo Chared collided on the first turn, checking Hypo Chared.  Hypo Chared and Street Artist collided approaching the home turn.  Habana City and Street Artist collided on the home turn.  Pacific Beach and Street Artist collided entering the home straight.

Burnsy's Sam was a late scratching at 5:09 pm, due to injury (GAR 23).  Stewards spoke to Mr Terry Burns, trainer of Burnsy's Sam, regarding his failure to scratch the greyhound by the scheduled time.  Stewards accepted Mr Burns' explanation and no stand down period was imposed.

Oaklands was slow to begin.  Sobered Up and Charlie Rocket collided on the first turn.  Buckle Up Spud and Adala Boy collided on the first turn.  Sobered Up contacted the running rail approaching the home turn, checking Sobered Up, severely checking Oaklands, which fell as a result; checking Buckle Up Spud.

Sobered Up was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hock and elbow, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Oaklands was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg thigh injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Velocity Alaina was quick to begin.  Modern Jagger and Colonel were slow to begin.  Modern Jagger checked off Colonel approaching the first turn.  Maggie Mikado, Staunch As and Canterbury collided on the first turn, checking Maggie Mikado and Canterbury.  Maggie Mikado and Staunch As collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Colonel checked off Sale Graze Bindi on the first turn.  Modern Jagger checked off Tekeela Too on the third turn.  Maggie Mikado raced wide in the home straight.

Vanishka and Rellim Diesel were slow to begin.  Sprint Tee, Nareen and Magenta Gold collided soon after the start, checking Nareen.  Lady Bullseye, Sprint Tee, Magenta Gold and Doused In Mud collided approaching the first turn, checking Sprint Tee, Magenta Gold and Doused In Mud.  Lady Bullseye and Doused In Mud collided on the first turn, checking Doused In Mud.  Sprint Tee and Magenta Gold collided approaching the second turn, checking Magenta Gold.  Magenta Gold checked off Sprint Tee entering the back straight, checking Nareen.  Lady Bullseye checked off Rellim Diesel in the back straight, checking Doused In Mud.  Lady Bullseye and Rellim Diesel collided in the home straight, checking Rellim Diesel.

A sample was taken from Khaleesi Girl - the winner of the event.

Boycey Road and Red Hot Fox were slow to begin.  Boycey Road, Red Hot Fox and Faithful Hill collided soon after the start.  Yogi Mikado, Temujin and Totally Fab collided approaching the first turn, checking Temujin which collided with Charlie Haze, causing Charlie Haze to fall which checked Boycey Road.  Temujin and Totally Fab collided on the home turn.

A sample was taken from Sweet Sparkle - the winner of the event.

Charlie Haze was following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg hock and calf injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards delayed all clear whilst they checked all available footage, due to Charlie Haze falling on the first turn, jumping the running rail and running on the inside of the track.  After checking all footage Stewards were satisfied that no other greyhound had been affected by the incident and all clear was given.

Riviera Cruz and Boil Over collided approaching the first turn.  Galloping Fantom and Champagne Papi collided approaching the first turn, checking Galloping Fantom.  Riviera Cruz, May Haze, Leading The Way and Miss Dee Meadows collided on the first turn, checking Miss Dee Meadows and May Haze.  Galloping Fantom and Miss Dee Meadows collided on the second turn.

Galloping Fantom was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg monkey muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Legality and Ah Sugar Sugar were slow to begin.  Alina Grand and Ah Sugar Sugar collided approaching the first turn, checking Alina Grand and Miss Legality.  Alina Grand and Miss Legality collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.

Tarree's Ruslie was a late scratching at 5:22 pm, due to injury (GAR 23).  Stewards spoke to Mr Russell Edwards, trainer of Tarree's Ruslie, regarding his failure to scratch the greyhound by the scheduled time.  Stewards accepted Mr Edwards' explanation and no stand down period was imposed.

Brindle Ninja, Luna Evening, Premier Jess and Jimmy's Angel were slow to begin.  Jimmy's Angel and Premier Jess collided approaching the first turn.  Premier Jess crossed to the outside on the first turn, checking Jimmy's Angel.  Luna Evening and Porscha's Girl collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Jimmy's Angel contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.  Vienna Gypsy, Luna Evening, Porscha's Girl and Premier Jess raced wide in the home straight.

Jimmy's Angel was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hock, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Pie, Baggy's Request and Tarika Tara were slow to begin.  Indira's Girl crossed to the inside approaching the first turn, checking Elram Girl and Miss Pie.  Baggy's Request checked off Miss Pie on the home turn.  Baggy's Request checked off Tarika Tara on the home turn.  Baggy's Request raced wide in the home straight.

Just Blacky was slow to begin.  Tricky Trey, Riccarton, Ima Reality and Birkenhead collided soon after the start, checking Riccarton and Ima Reality.  Tricky Trey and Just Blacky collided on the first turn.  In Dee Genes galloped on Knew It on the first turn.  Knew It eased approaching the home turn.  In Dee Genes and Riccarton collided on the home turn.  Just Blacky and Ima Reality collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ian Brown, the handler of the greyhound Knew It, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Knew It was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg calf injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Knew It with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Brown pleaded not guilty to the charge, Knew It was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
