Steward's Report
The start time of this event was rescheduled to 2:22PM due to the abandonment of Casino greyhounds.
Stewards spoke to Mr K Kubik, the kennel representative for the greyhounds Reality Thunder, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Reality Thunder last raced on 17 December 2017 and is returning after a tail injury.
Captain Marvel was slow to begin.
Hardy's Banjo, Cataleya and Avatar Sparkle collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Scoota Flash, Cataleya, Avatar Sparkle and Tiny Octane collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Avatar Sparkle, Cataleya and Tiny Octane. Captain Marvel checked off Hardy's Banjo approaching the 150m mark. Captain Marvel and Cataleya collided at the 150m mark. Captain Marvel crossed to the outside at the 100m mark, checking Cataleya. Tiny Octane and Avatar Sparkle collided at the 50m mark, checking both greyhounds. Scoota Flash and Hardy's Banjo collided at the 50m mark.
Scoota Flash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the hind left foot. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
