Steward's Report
The start time of this event was rescheduled to 2:57PM due to the abandonment of Casino greyhounds.
Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Warde, the representative of King Gibbo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. King Gibbo last raced on 29 September 2017 and is returning after a right metatarsal injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Paez, the trainer of Von Costa Kahn regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Von Costa Kahn last raced on 22 October 2017 and is returning after a spell.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter Mr. R. Johnson did not act in any official capacity for this event.
King Gibbo and Selynya Kev were slow to begin.
King Gibbo crossed to the outside at the 250m mark, checking City Rambler and King Gibbo. King Gibbo checked off Selynya Kev at the 50m mark.
Stewards noted that Mantra Mick fell on pulling up in the catching pen. Matra Mick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Meeting Comments:
Track curator Mr B Mulligan advised Stewards that the track was medium-deep harrowed on Monday 19 March 2018.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms S Warde, the kennel representative for Cosmic Buzzard, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cosmic Buzzard last raced on 25 March 2017 and is returning after a change of trainer. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cosmic Buzzard trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 33.1kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.16, the greyhound won by a margin of 1L. Cosmic Buzzard was cleared.
Krazy Blaze trialled over the 300m from box three, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2L. Krazy Blaze was cleared.
Krazy Jane trialled over the 300m from box five, weight 26.2kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1L. Krazy Jane was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (blinkers on) - Bellum Girl trialled over the 300m from box seven, weight 28.7kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7L. Bellum Girl was not cleared.
