Steward's Report
Dyna Yona and Limburg Sprite were quick to begin. Undenied Access was slow to begin. Lucky Luna and Dyna Kerro collided soon after the start. Zipping Galon, Undenied Access and Lucky Luna collided approaching the first turn checking Undenied Access. Lucky Luna crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Chochlik and Limburg Patrick. Chochlik and Limburg Patrick collided on the first turn checking Zipping Galon, Chochlik, Limburg Patrick and Undenied Access. Dyna Yona, Limburg Sprite and Dyna Kerro collided approaching the home turn checking Dyna Yona and Limburg Sprite and severely checking Limburg Patrick; Limburg Patrick galloped on the heels of Limburg Sprite, stumbled and lost ground as a result. Chochlik and Dyna Yona collided in the home straight. Dyna Kerro visibly eased, turned its head outwards and shifted up the track in the home straight checking Chochlik, Zipping Galon and Dyna Yona.
Dyna Yona was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. H. Collins, the representative of Dyna Yona regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.In not taking more severe action Stewards noted the shift inwards from Chochlik which exacerbated the contact.
Dyna Kerro was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mrs. A. Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Kerro regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Dyna Kerro with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge. Dyna Kerro was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
