Supplementary Report

Sandown 11th March 2018.

At the Geelong Greyhound Racing Club today GRV Stewards opened an inquiry with Trainer Ms Deborah White after unlicensed person Mr Brian Veitch handled Fawn Secrets at Sandown on 11 March 2018. After hearing submissions from Ms White, the Stewards issued a charge to Ms White under GAR 101 (2) (b) in that she permitted an unlicensed person, namely Mr Veitch to handle Fawn Secrets at Sandown Park on Sunday 11 March 2018. Ms White  pleaded guilty to the charge. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration Ms White's good record, the guilty plea, that Mr Veitch was licensed in a suitable capacity until recently and that Ms White was unaware that his license had lapsed. However, against these factors, Stewards considered the need for general deterrence and the potentially serious nature of unlicensed persons acting in an official capacity on race-days. The Stewards imposed a fine of $200, with $100 of that suspended pending no further breaches of this rule within 12 months from today.

Track Curator, Mr. T. Dempsey advised Stewards that both the inside and the outside track were medium harrowed on Wednesday 14th March 2018.

Mema Wibble was quick to begin.  Dyna Carl was slow to begin.  Happy Cruising checked off Hot Devil approaching the first turn.  Dyna Winter checked off Slingshot Sassy on the first turn checking Flamin' Miracle.  Dyna Carl, Dyna Winter and Flamin' Miracle collided approaching the home turn checking Dyna Winter and Flamin' Miracle.  Mema Wibble and Hot Devil collided entering the home straight.  Slingshot Sassy crossed to the outside and marred Mema Wibble in the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Dyna Winter raced wide in the home straight.  Flamin' Miracle raced ungenerously approaching the winning post.  Hot Devil, Mema Wibble, Slingshot Sassy and Flamin' Miracle collided approaching the winning post checking Mema Wibble, Slingshot Sassy and Flamin' Miracle. 

Flamin' Miracle was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards issued a warning to Mr. R. Dunne, the trainer of Flamin' Miracle regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.

Slingshot Sassy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Welsh, the representative of the greyhound Slingshot Sassy regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Slingshot Sassy with marring.  Ms. Welsh pleaded guilty to the charge.  Slingshot Sassy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dyna Yona and Limburg Sprite were quick to begin.  Undenied Access was slow to begin.  Lucky Luna and Dyna Kerro collided soon after the start.  Zipping Galon, Undenied Access and Lucky Luna collided approaching the first turn checking Undenied Access.  Lucky Luna crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Chochlik and Limburg Patrick.  Chochlik and Limburg Patrick collided on the first turn checking Zipping Galon, Chochlik, Limburg Patrick and Undenied Access.  Dyna Yona, Limburg Sprite and Dyna Kerro collided approaching the home turn checking Dyna Yona and Limburg Sprite and severely checking Limburg Patrick; Limburg Patrick galloped on the heels of Limburg Sprite, stumbled and lost ground as a result.  Chochlik and Dyna Yona collided in the home straight.  Dyna Kerro visibly eased, turned its head outwards and shifted up the track in the home straight checking Chochlik, Zipping Galon and Dyna Yona.

Dyna Yona was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. H. Collins, the representative of Dyna Yona regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.In not taking more severe action Stewards noted the shift inwards from Chochlik which exacerbated the contact.

Dyna Kerro was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mrs. A. Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Kerro regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Dyna Kerro with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mrs. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge.  Dyna Kerro was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sassy Sultana was quick to begin.  Giant Jarvis and Mira's Potion were slow to begin.  Barcia Houdini was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Pius Thicknesse crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Giant Jarvis, Dyna Gunner and Mira's Potion.  Quest For Glory and Stevie Jane collided approaching the first turn checking Quest For Glory.  Mira's Potion and Stevie Jane collided on the first turn.  Quest For Glory checked off Mira's Potion in the home straight.  Sassy Sultana checked off Pius Thicknesse approaching the winning post.

Aeroplane Indy was quick to begin.  Like A Rocket and Saltbush Bill was slow to begin.  Saltbush Bill checked off Broadway Belle approaching the first turn.  Isen Allen and Broadway Belle collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Isen Allen and Broadway Belle collided on the first turn checking Broadway Belle.  Like A Rocket and Aeroplane Indy collided approaching the home turn checking Aeroplane Indy.  Saltbush Bill raced wide on the home turn.  Isen Allen and Dyna Elise collided entering the home straight.  Aeroplane Indy checked off Dyna Owen approaching the winning post and collided with Isen Allen.

Stewards spoke to M. J. Sayle after the greyhound Zipping Oliver was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  Mr. Sayle was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.

Stewards spoke to Kennel Attendant, Mr. T. Dempsey after the greyhound Zipping Oliver was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  Mr. Dempsey was reminded of his responsibilities  and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future.  The matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.

Lainey's Fortune was quick to begin.  Sabjorn Bale was slow to begin.  Dyna Denver and Umar Allen collided soon after the start checking Dyna Denver.  Umar Allen checked off Don Lesta approaching the first turn.  Dyna Denver and Diamond On Fire collided on the first turn checking Diamond On Fire.  Sabjorn Bale and Umar Allen collided approaching the home turn checking Umar Allen.  Don Lesta galloped on the heels of Zipping Oliver on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Diamond On Fire raced wide on the home turn.  Umar Allen checked off Sabjorn Bale on the home turn.

Diamond On Fire was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hip.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

The start of this event was delayed approximately one minute due to Gloucester Park Harness race 2 running behind schedule

Gordette was quick to begin.  Hit The Highway was slow to begin.  Hit The Highway checked off Hogwarts Express soon after the start.  Possibly and Hogwarts Express collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Manzeene Magic faltered approaching the home turn and collided with Cooper Scooper; Manzeene Magic tailed off as a result.  Manzeene Magic and Hit The Highway collided on the home turn checking Manzeene Magic which raced wide as a result.  Blue Gum Hill and Gordette collided entering the home straight.  Possibly and Hogwarts Express collided in the home straight.

Manzeene Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Flying Rose was slow to begin.  Nambrok Agent checked off Dyna Lenae approaching the first turn.  Dyna Zapto checked off Dyna Winkler approaching the first turn.  Dyna Winkler checked off Blackpool Blast approaching the home turn.  Dodge An' Steele and Trew Danger collided entering the home straight checking Trew Danger.  Blackpool Blast galloped on the heels of Trew Danger in the home straight checking Trew Danger and severely checking Blackpool Blast which stumbled and lost considerable ground as a result.  Dyna Winkler and Dyna Lenae raced wide in the home straight.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Inga Ted and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:21pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Ms. M. Iguanti was fined the sum of $100.
