Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Combridge, the trainer of Woofa Combo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Woofa Combo last raced on 7th November, 2017. Ms. Combridge stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right hock injury.
Anjing Betina and Dargo Dasher were quick to begin. Woofa Combo was slow to begin. Mallee Spring and Artistic Alyssa collided approaching the first turn checking Artistic Alyssa which lost ground. Anjing Betina crossed to the outside on the home turn. Mallee Spring eased and failed to pursue the lure approaching the winning post and collided with Dargo Dasher.
Artistic Alyssa was vetted and after being re vetted following event 6, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. McMahon, the trainer of the greyhound Mallee Spring regarding the greyound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Mallee Spring was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild bruising to the right foreleg toe. No stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mallee Spring with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Mallee Spring was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
