Meeting Comments :

This meeting was declared Hot Weather Affected on the 10/03/18 as per GRV's Hot Weather policy.   At the beginning of kennelling the outside temperature was  27 and decreasing.  As a result Stewards dispensed of the raceday requirements of the hot weather policy as per Section 31.  

El Helecho was quick to begin.  Pure White Evil and Sweet Spolly were slow to begin.  Beau Gem, Waltz On Bye and Belron Bliss collided on the first turn checking Waltz On Bye and Belron Bliss.  Belron Bliss and Qatar Girl collided approaching the home turn.  Sweet Spolly checked off Qatar Girl on the home turn.

So Like Sooty, All Spiced Up and Rajasthan were slow to begin.  Tempered checked off Our Star approaching the first turn.  Tempered and So Like Sooty collided on the first turn checking Rajasthan and So Like Sooty.  All Spiced Up galloped on We Love Spolly on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Tempered and Rajasthan collided approaching the home turn checking Tempered; Tempered lost ground as a result.  Rajasthan checked off We Love Spolly approaching the home turn.  So Like Sooty raced wide in the home straight.

Tempered was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Miss Gippsland was quick to begin.  Oriental Rhys and Aston Ricardo were slow to begin.  Lyka Skywalker, Miss Gippsland and El Diamonte collided approaching the first turn checking El Diamonte and severely checking Miss Gippsland.  Ohana Lad checked off Urban Ruler on the first turn.  Oriental Rhys checked off Miss Gippsland on the first turn.  El Diamonte and Urban Ruler collided on the first turn checking El Diamonte.  El Diamonte and Miss Gippsland collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Gippsland.  Ohana Lad and Urban Ruler collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Ohana Lad, Urban Ruler and Aston Ricardo collided in the home straight.  Aston Ricardo crossed to the rail in the home straight checking Ohana Lad and Urban Ruler.

Chill Out Julie, Sale Graze Bindi and Pacific Power were slow to begin.  Lady CeeCee and Detroit Wally collided soon after the start.  Lady Bullseye and Detroit Wally collided approaching the first turn.  Pacific Power raced wide on the second turn.  Lady CeeCee and Detroit Wally collided on the third turn.  Pacific Power and Jobes Return collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds.  Pacific Power and Jobes Return collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Combridge, the trainer of Woofa Combo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Woofa Combo last raced on 7th November, 2017.  Ms. Combridge stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right hock injury.

Anjing Betina and Dargo Dasher were quick to begin.  Woofa Combo was slow to begin.  Mallee Spring and Artistic Alyssa collided approaching the first turn checking Artistic Alyssa which lost ground.  Anjing Betina crossed to the outside on the home turn.  Mallee Spring eased and failed to pursue the lure approaching the winning post and collided with Dargo Dasher.

Artistic Alyssa was vetted and after being re vetted following event 6,  it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. McMahon, the trainer of the greyhound Mallee Spring regarding the greyound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Mallee Spring was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild bruising to the right foreleg toe.  No stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mallee Spring with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Mallee Spring was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Kalani Amy and Lunar Shadow were quick to begin.  Emilia Mel, Jesse's Typhoon and Clarence Clocka were slow to begin.  Kalani Amy, Quick Finance and Clarence Clocka collided on the first turn checking Lunar Shadow.  Lunar Shadow clipped the heels of Clarence Clocka on the first turn.  Jesse's Typhoon lost ground on the first turn.  Kalani Amy checked off Wadelock Sampson on the first turn.  Clarence Clocka and Emilia Mel collided approaching the home turn.  Lunar Shadow raced wide on the home turn.

Jesse's Typhoon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Anderton, (trainer) of Quick Finance regarding making contact with the boxes after boxing his greyhound.

Riviera Cruz was quick to begin.  Dyna Carver and Radish collided soon after the start checking Radish and Leopardstown.  Leopardstown and Rose Rose collided approaching the first turn checking Leopardstown.  Dyna Carver raced wide entering the back straight.  Riviera Cruz and Miss Holland collided in the back straight and again approaching the home turn.  Our Delta Rose and Dyna Carver collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Mr. B. Harper trainer of Omega Sniper declared a new weight of 33.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Omega Sniper last raced at 32.0kgs.

Boom Flash was slow to begin.  Our Bravo Rose, Our Mojo and Omega Brittany collided soon after the start checking Our Mojo and Omega Brittany.  Cosmic Fox checked off Omega Sniper on the first turn checking Our Bravo Rose, Hurunui Jack, Boom Flash and Our Mojo;  Boom Flash faltered and pulled up as a result.  Our Bravo Rose and Hurunui Jack collided on the first turn checking Our Bravo Rose; Our Bravo Rose lost ground as a result.  Cosmic Fox checked off Omega Sniper approaching the winning post.

Boom Flash was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Where's Lachie was slow to begin.  Pass The Jar and Pepper Shiraz collided soon after the start.  Master Rico crossed to the rail approaching the first turn.  Midgey, Pass The Jar and Charlie Haze collided on the first turn checking Charlie Haze.  Midgey and Pass The Jar collided on the second turn.  Charlie Haze galloped on Midgey approaching the home turn checking Midgey.  Pass The Jar and Miss Sweet Pea collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Jett Zafonic was slow to begin.  Hello Nimble was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Mr. Diaz and Dr. Summer collided approaching the first turn checking Supa Shalala and severely checking La Petite.  Sir Richard, Mr. Diaz and Sharp Missile collided on the first turn checking Sir Richard and severely checking Mr. Diaz and Dr. Summer.

La Petite was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Hello Nimble was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Perrie Lulu was quick to begin.  Jake and Media Street were slow to begin.  Media Street raced wide on the first turn checking Jake.  Good Odds Ava clipped the heels of Ikon Parker on the first turn.

Black Shirley was slow to begin.  Lottie Glenda checked off Voodoo Hustler on the first turn.  Tram Tracker checked off Stolen on the first turn.  Maderra raced wide on the home turn.  Crooked Vulture and Rip Van Winkle collided in the home straight.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Miriam's Wish trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 29.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 24.92, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 lengths.  Miriam's Wish was Cleared.
