Maximum Gift was slow to begin. Striking Gold checked off Azure Dragon soon after the start, checking Dyna Jenaya, and severely checking Striking Gold and Maximum Gift. Maximum Gift checked off Trew Danger soon after the start. Blackpool Blast checked off Azure Dragon on the home turn. Weeona Bonnie checked off Hot Jean in the home straight. Weeona Bonnie and Azure Dragon collided approaching the winning post.
Hot Jean was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the left hindleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
