Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Smashing Wild.
Smashing Wild, Cruising Suzie and Premier Ching collided soon after the start. Cruising Suzie and In The Net collided approaching the first turn. Sidevalve, Cruising Suzie and In The Net collided on the first turn, checking Cruising Suzie and Smashing Wild. Smashing Wild and Premier Ching collided on the first turn. Cruising Suzie raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Following Race 12, Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of trainer Mr. M. Lloyd and starter Mr. J. Nicholls immediately prior to and following the running of Race 10. After taking evidence from both parties and Steward C. Day, Stewards ajourned the matter to a date to be fixed.
MEETING COMMENTS
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Murray Warren, the trainer of Skyes Apprentice, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Skyes Apprentice last raced on 18 December 2016. Mr Warren stated that the greyhound had been spelled. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Skyes Apprentice trialled over the 400m from box two, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9L. Skyes Apprentice was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Jello Allen trialled over the 400m from box four, weight 31.6kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75L. Jello Allen was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Painted Elvry trialled over the 400m from box six, weight 33.1kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound won by a margin of 7.75L. Painted Elvry was cleared.
