Mr Daniel Welsh, trainer of Sarah Smirnoff, declared a new weight of 27.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sarah Smirnoff last raced at 26.2kg.

Neb's Horse was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had sustained left medial tibial periostitis (track leg) and an injury to the right pectineus (groin) muscle. A three-day stand down period was imposed.

Me Bros Bad was slow to begin.

Agent Barry checked off Dyna Jenaya soon after the start. Lady Pippa galloped on Mepunga Reign on the first turn, severely checking Lady Pippa and causing Mepunga Reign to fall.

Mepunga Reign was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder joint. A 21-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Rennie, the trainer of Leeroy Rox, regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Mr Rennie with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Leeroy Rox. Mr Rennie pleaded guilty to the charge and a $100 fine was applied. When determining penalty, stewards took into account Mr Rennies personal antecedence and the forthright manner in which he conducted himself. Save for Mr Rennie's mitigating factors, the penalty for this offence would be nominally higher.

Mr J Gaut, kennel representative for Maximum Gift, declared a new weight of 26.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Maximum Gift last raced at 28.3kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Wickham, the trainer of Pandora Galaxy, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Pandora Galaxy last raced on 17th November 2018. Mr Wickham stated that  the greyhound was resuming to race from a spell.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Zenstar, engaged in this event, on 26 February 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffrey Britton, the trainer of Tilly Rocks, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tilly Rocks last raced on 9th November 2018. Mr Britton stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a hock injury.

Following Race 12, Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of trainer Mr. M. Lloyd and starter Mr. J. Nicholls immediately prior to and following the running of Race 10. After taking evidence from both parties and Steward C. Day, Stewards ajourned the matter to a date to be fixed.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Murray Warren, the trainer of Skyes Apprentice, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Skyes Apprentice last raced on 18 December 2016. Mr Warren stated that the greyhound had been spelled. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Skyes Apprentice trialled over the 400m from box two, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9L. Skyes Apprentice was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Jello Allen trialled over the 400m from box four, weight 31.6kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75L. Jello Allen was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Painted Elvry trialled over the 400m from box six, weight 33.1kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound won by a margin of 7.75L. Painted Elvry was cleared.
