This meeting was declared heat affected on Thursday 22nd February. At the start of kenneling the outside temperature was 34.4 and the kennel temperature was 17.6.

Dyna Gunner and Mickie Raven collided soon after the start. Sara's Sox and Mickie Raven collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Sara's Sox, Mickie Raven and Dyna Gunner collided on the first turn, checking Sara's Sox. Dyna Gunner checked off Mr. Fabulous approaching the home turn. Dyna Gunner and Mr. Fabulous collided several times in the home straight.

As the outside temperature was significantly lower than 32 degrees Stewards dispensed with the hot weather policy.

Zipping Diva was quick to begin. Zipping Galon was slow to begin. Zipping Shika checked off Naughty Millie approaching the first turn. Zipping Galon, Maramba, Zipping Keely and Mr. Romantic collided approaching the first turn, checking Maramba and Zipping Keely. Zipping Galon and Zipping Shika collided on the first turn, checking Zipping Galon, Zipping Shika and Mr. Romantic. Maramba checked off Zipping Keely on the first turn. Mr. Romantic and Zipping Shika collided on the home turn, checking Mr. Romantic, Zipping Shika and Zipping Keely.

Zipping Keely was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

The start of this race was delayed approximately one minute due to Geraldton Gallops Race 7 running behind schedule.

Uringa checked off Midnight Mystery soon after the start. Architecture, Dyna Zapto and Redhead Chez collided soon after the start, checking Dyna Zapto. Bombora Thunder shifted in on the first turn, checking Redhead Chez and Lancome Lady. Dyna Zapto and Architecture collided on the first turn. Uringa checked off Architecture on the first turn. Architecture and Dyna Zapto collided approaching the home turn. Bombora Thunder and Dodge An' Steele collided on the home turn. Uringa, Architecture and Dyna Zapto collided on the home turn, checking Architecture and Dyna Zapto.

Blue Espearance was a late scratching at 5.24pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Pretty Sensation.

Pretty Sensation was slow to begin. Dyna Winkler, Dyna Ileen and Dyna Alistair collided on the first turn, checking Dyna Winkler. Spider Regis checked off Dyna Gertie on the first turn. Dyna Gertie and Dyna Alistair collided entering the home straight. 

Ian Cockerell trainer of Fleur Delacour declared a new weight of 33.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Fleur Delacour last raced at 32.3kg. 

James Sayle trainer of Zipping Oliver declared a new weight of 33.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zipping Oliver last raced at 32.7kg. 

A pre race sample was taken from Idabelle Bale.

Tiggerlong Ring, Fab Dream, Dyna Xervo and Idabelle Bale collided soon after the start, checking Fab Dream and Idabelle Bale. Tiggerlong Ring, Fab Dream, Dyna Xervo and Idabelle Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Tiggerlong Ring, Fab Dream and Dyna Xervo. Zipping Oliver checked off Fleur Delacour on the first turn, checking Manzeene Man. Fab Dream raced wide in the home straight.

Scott Cosmic and James Beat Fed collided soon after the start. Loch Monster and Goorawin collided soon after the start. James Beat Fed checked off Dyna Owen on the first turn, lost ground and tailed off. 

James Beat Fed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Ronray Destiny on 22 February pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre race sample was taken from Greysynd Alpha.

Gehring Bale was slow to begin. Hit 'N' Split and Another What collided on the first turn, checking Another What. Gehring Bale and Another What collided on the first turn. Greysynd Alpha, Orazzi Ohh and Ronray Destiny collided on the home turn. Another What checked off Gehring Bale on the home turn.

Blue Fortitude was a late scratching at 10.46am with Stewards permission. 

Blue Vegas, George Regis and Riverdale Danger collided soon after the start. Zipping Zoe, Blackpool Blast, Koitsenko, Blue Vegas and George Regis collided on the first turn, checking Blue Vegas, which fell as a result. George Regis and Blackpool Blast collided on the home turn.

Blue Vegas was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

A sample was taken from Zipping Zoe - the winner of the event. 

Etiquette was a late scratching at 9.58pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to laceration and swelling to the muzzle area . A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Silent Boloney.

Riverdale Tarzan was slow to begin. Maximum Jan, Handpass and Gordette collided on the first turn, checking Gordette. 

Stewards spoke to Matthew Abela, the representative of Riverdale Sugar regarding the length of time between races.  Riverdale Sugar last raced on 6 November 2017 and is returning to racing from being in season.

Sooky Jooky was a late scratching at 6.14pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to heat stress. A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Kouta Gold.

Riverdale Sugar checked off Warrion Warrior soon after the start. Warrion Warrior, Galester Hook and Kouta Gold collided approaching the first turn, checking Galester Hook and Kouta Gold. Desiree Dancer checked off Ima Ruby on the first turn, checking Kouta Gold. Kouta Gold and Riverdale Sugar collided approaching the home turn. Riverdale Sugar, Desiree Dancer and Galester Hook collided on the home turn. 

A pre race sample was taken from Little Women. 

Crump's Legend, Thunder Of Night, Little Women and Lainey's Fortune collided soon after the start. Chevsta, Crump's Legend and Lainey's Fortune collided on the first turn, checking Thunder Of Night, Crump's Legend, Night Hawk and Little Women, and severely checking Lainey's Fortune. Crump's Legend checked off Thunder Of Night on the home turn.

Lainey's Fortune was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hind leg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Following this event, Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of trainers Mr. A. Kenyon and Ms. M. Malia-Magri prior to the running of Race 12. Ms. Malia-Magri pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR. 86(q) in that prior to the running of Race 12, she engaged in conduct detrimental to the image of greyhound racing in that she used foul language towards Mr. Kenyon in the vicinty of the kennel block. Ms. Malia-Magri was fined $100. Mr. Kenyon pleaded not guilty to a charge under GAR 86(q) in that prior to the running of Race 12, he engaged in conduct detrimental to the image of greyhound racing in that he engaged Ms. Malia-Magri in a heated discussion in an unprofessional manner while in the vicinity of the kennel block. After considering further evidence put forward by Mr. Kenyon in his defense, Stewards were of the opinion that there was insufficient evidence and withdrew the charge. Mr. Kenyon was reminded of his responsibility to act in a professional manner at all times while involved in greyhound racing.
