Steward's Report
Tuscan Dream was a late scratching at 8.29pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a possible seizure. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Nike Viper was slow to begin. Chevsta and Lightning Frank collided approaching the first turn, checking Chevsta. Chevsta checked off Little Toby on the first turn. Starlight Jill crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Little Toby and severely checking Kalahari Sands. Chevsta and Nike Viper collided entering the home straight.
Kalahari Sands was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hip, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Lightning Frank - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Treherne, the trainer of the greyhound Tuscan Dream regarding the greyhounds late scratching. Acting under GAR 74 stewards stood down Tuscan Dream from racing until the greyhound passes a satisfactory trial and veterinary examination.
