A pre-race sample was taken from Throw The Book.
Ollie Buck was slow to begin. Savannah Ash crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Throw The Book. Jaimandy Tracey and Dyna Ianto collided soon after the start, checking Jaimandy Tracey. Throw The Book and Dyna Terror collided on the first turn, checking Dyna Terror. Throw The Book checked off Atigrado approaching the second turn, checking Dyna Terror and Jaimandy Tracey. Dyna Terror checked off Throw The Book entering the back straight. Ollie Buck checked off the heels of Atigrado in the back straight, checking Atigrado. Throw The Book galloped on the heels of Atrigrado in the back straight, severely checking Throw The Book and Atigrado, Atigrado lost ground as a result.
Atigrado was vetted and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg deltoid and cervico-thoracic injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
