One More Light and Zipping Brandy were quick to begin.  Old Sandy Pub, Fireball Annie and Jetyra Buckskin were slow to begin.  Select Minister, Zipping Brandy and Mega Mckayla collided on the first turn.  Zipping Brandy checked off One More Light approaching the home turn and lost considerable ground as a result.  Old Sandy Pub and Jetyra Buckskin collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.  Angel's Halo eased, failed to pursue the lure and  attempted to marr the greyhound on it's inside, in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Angel's Halo regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight..  Angel's Halo was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 3,  it was reported that the greyhound sustained a right quadriceps muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Angel's Halo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Angel's Halo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Where's Lachie and Full Tilt were slow to begin.  Dyna Carver, Surgical Wally and Kiss Me Putu collided on the first turn.  Kiss Me Putu and Full Tilt collided approaching the home turn checking Kiss Me Putu.  Flash Bobbie, Where's Lachie and Full Tilt collided approaching the home turn checking Full Tilt.  Mega Hazel contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.  Flash Bobbie raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Rose Rose was quick to begin. Loaded and Margolis were slow to begin.  Loaded, Margolis and Cosmic Fox collided soon after the start checking Loaded and Margolis.  Rose Rose and Riccarton collided in the home straight checking Riccarton.

Kroes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion under the right dew claw, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Snip Snap was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hind triangle muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Walker, the trainer of Pia regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Pia last raced on 7th November 2017.  Mr. Walker stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a left shoulder injury.

Doc's Reward and Sesame Street were slow to begin.  Pia, Doc's Reward and Sesame Street collided approaching the first turn.  Dynamic Rainbow, Dyna Maple and Leading The Way collided on the first turn.  Pia checked off Dynamic Rainbow approaching the home turn.  Sesame Street and Aston Lola  collided approaching the home turn.  Dyna Maple and Pia collided in the home straight.
