Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Graham, the trainer of Evil Currency regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Evil Currency last raced on 22nd October, 2017, Mr. Graham stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.
A pre-race sample was taken from Surfonic Pearl.
Hurricane Craig was quick to begin. Good Old Days and Falling In Love were slow to begin. Good Old Days checked off Hurricane Craig approaching the first turn. Blunderbuss checked off Mega Mckayla approaching the first turn. That Will Be and Mega McKayla collided on the first turn. Evil Currency checked off Good Old Days on the first turn severely checking Evil Currency and causing Evil Currency to contact the running rail. Good Old Days and Hurricane Craig collided approaching the home turn.
Evil Currency was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right pencil muscle injury and an abrasion to the right hind toes, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. W. McMahon, the representative of Surfonic Pearl regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.
