Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Graham, the trainer of Evil Currency regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Evil Currency last raced on 22nd October, 2017,  Mr. Graham stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.

A pre-race sample was taken from Surfonic Pearl.

Hurricane Craig was quick to begin.  Good Old Days and Falling In Love were slow to begin.  Good Old Days checked off Hurricane Craig approaching the first turn.  Blunderbuss checked off Mega Mckayla approaching the first turn.  That Will Be and Mega McKayla collided on the first turn.  Evil Currency checked off Good Old Days on the first turn severely checking Evil Currency and causing Evil Currency to contact the running rail.  Good Old Days and Hurricane Craig collided approaching the home turn.

Evil Currency was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained  a right pencil muscle injury and an abrasion to the right hind toes, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. W. McMahon, the representative of Surfonic Pearl regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Colpoys, the trainer of Brandi Belle regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Brandi Belle last raced on 15th November, 2017.  Mr. Colpoys stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennels.

Ghostly Terrah was slow to begin.  Stealthy Mover, Galloping Bluboy and Acer collided soon after the start checking Galloping Bluboy and Acer.  Stealthy Mover checked off Power Gem approaching the first turn.  Galloping Bluboy and Power Gem collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds; Galloping Bluboy contacted the running rail as a result.  Acer and Ghostly Terrah collided approaching the home turn checking Ghostly Terrah.  My Rag Doll and Stealthy Mover collided approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Stealthy Mover crossed out approaching the winning post and checked off Acer.

Cosa Bona, Allen Incent and El Tigera were slow to begin.  Soap and Ann Cherie collided soon after the start checking Ann Cherie.  Ann Cherie, Allen Incent and Sapphire Hawke collided approaching the first turn.  Cash Infusion and Sapphire Hawke collided approaching the first turn checking Cash Infusion and El Tigera.  Allen Incent checked off Sapphire Hawke approaching the first turn.  Sapphire Hawke and Ann Cherie collided in the back straight.  Cash Infusion and El Tigera collided approaching the home turn.  Cash Infusion and Allen Incent raced wide approaching the home turn.  Soap and Princess Parker collided entering the home straight.  Allen Incent raced wide in the home straight.

Allen Incent was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Fawn Regrets was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Go Maxi and Red Octane collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Red Octane, Rocketing Ruby and Fat Rhino collided on the first turn checking Soda Spike, Rocketing Ruby, Go Maxi and Red Octane.  Fawn Regrets and Maniac Matilda collided on the third turn checking Maniac Matilda.  Rocketing Ruby galloped on Soda Spike approaching the home turn.  Rocketing Ruby and Soda Spike collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Dr. Eleonora, Tilley's Pie, Joyce's Choice, Markinch Maid and Dr. Toretto collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Eleonora and Markinch Maid.  Tilley's Pie and Joyce's Choice collided on the first turn and again entering the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Fifty Dollar and Shiro collided on the second turn checking Shiro.  Markinch Maid and Shiro collided in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Mandela Sun -  the winner of the event.

Zafonic Express and Daisy Patch collided soon after the start.  Scrumble checked off Will Dazzle approaching the first turn.  Zafonic Express, Daisy Patch and Will Dazzle collided on the first turn checking Zafonic Express and Scrumble.  Daisy Patch faltered in the back straight and subsequently tailed off.  Zafonic Express and Will Dazzle collided in the back straight checking Will Dazzle.

Daisy Patch was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Cowling, the representative of Make It Happen regarding the length of time the greyound has had between races.  Make It Happen last raced on 4th December, 2017.  Mr. Cowling stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a torn left hind tendon.

Two Toes Tony, Ha Ha Gotcha and Viewing were slow to begin.  Urana Banjo and Make It Happen collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Urana Banjo and Make It Happen collided on the second turn.  Urana Banjo marred Two Toes Tony approaching the winning post.

Urana Banjo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Whitford, the trainer of the greyhound Urana Banjo regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Urana Banjo with marring.  Mr. Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Urana Banjo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Oakmont Whisper was slow to begin.  Anjing Betina and Laurentide Ice collided on the first turn checking Laurentide Ice.  Anjing Betina raced wide in the back straight.  Oakmont Whisper checked off Slick Maggie approaching the home turn.  Milly's Choice raced wide in the home straight.

She's Our Poppy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained small abrasions to the left and right front feet, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Chelsea Drogba and Gomer Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Chelsea Drogba.  Quedos and Gomer Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Gomer Bale.  Spazzy Blue and Just Blacky collided approaching the first turn.  Gomer Bale galloped on Quedos on the first turn severely checking Quedos and Gomer Bale and checking Octo Burn and Just Blacky.  Octo Burn and Just Blacky collided approaching the home turn.  Just Blacky raced wide in the home straight.

Quedos was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. L. Dalziel,  the representative regarding the direction that the greyhound Iggy Wiggy be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Floyd, the trainer of Destructo Rat regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Destructo Rat last raced on 9th November, 2017.  Mr. Floyd stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right back muscle injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Fasoli, the representative of About To Cry regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  About To Cry last raced on 10th December, 2017.  Mr. Fasoli stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Faith.

Arashundi and Zipping Faith were slow to begin.  Johnny Wolf and Simbarea collided soon after the start.  About To Cry and Five Lights collided approaching the first turn.  Arashundi and Zipping Faith collided approaching the first turn.  Johnny Wolf and Five Lights collided on the first turn checking Johnny Wolf and Bandit Brad.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Slick Assassian trialled over the 315m from box 1, weight 29.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19:17,  the greyhound won by a margin of .75 lengths.  Slick Assassin was Not Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Lola's Boy trialled over the 315m from box 6, weight 34.0kgs , the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19:17,  the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.25 lengths.  Lola's Boy was Not Cleared.  Lola's Boy was vetted following the trial.  It was reported that the greyhound showed signs of cramping.  No stand down period ws imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Speedway Doll trialled over the 315m from box 8, weight 27.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 19:17, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of .75 lengths.  Speedway Doll was Not Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gambo's Girl trialled over the 315m from box 3, weight 29.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial ws 19:17, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.75 lengths.  Gambo's Girl was Not Cleared.

Re-Vetted Greyhound - Renaldo was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was Cleared to race.
