Steward's Report
Track Curator, Mr Tim Godfrey advised Stewards that the track was rotary hoed on Friday, 20 April 2018.
Mr Chris Darmanin, trainer of Calleva, declared a new weight of 28.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Calleva last raced at 27.6 kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Architecture.
Red Queen was quick to begin. Sweet Gabriella was slow to begin. Calleva was very slow to begin (3L). Rumbling, Ball Bearing and Sweet Gabriella collided soon after the start. Architecture crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Go Maxi. Rumbling and Go Maxi collided on the first turn, checking Go Maxi. Red Queen and Diego Fernando collided on the first turn, checking Red Queen. Rumbling and Architecture collided in the back straight. Diego Fernando and Ball Bearing collided in the home straight.
A sample was taken from Rumbling - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffry Coelho, the handler of Sweet Gabriella, and reminded him of his responsibilities, in that he listens to the instructions of the Starter when boxing his greyhound (GAR 51).
