Track Curator, Mr Tim Godfrey advised Stewards that the track was rotary hoed on Friday, 20 April 2018.

Mr Chris Darmanin, trainer of Calleva, declared a new weight of 28.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Calleva last raced at 27.6 kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Architecture.

Red Queen was quick to begin.  Sweet Gabriella was slow to begin.  Calleva was very slow to begin (3L).  Rumbling, Ball Bearing and Sweet Gabriella collided soon after the start.  Architecture crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Go Maxi.  Rumbling and Go Maxi collided on the first turn, checking Go Maxi.  Red Queen and Diego Fernando collided on the first turn, checking Red Queen.  Rumbling and Architecture collided in the back straight.  Diego Fernando and Ball Bearing collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffry Coelho, the handler of Sweet Gabriella, and reminded him of his responsibilities, in that he listens to the instructions of the Starter when boxing his greyhound (GAR 51).

A pre-race sample was taken from Alamo Mike.

Gappy Hilmore was quick to begin.  Weeona Bonnie, Shanlyn Bubbles and Hayley Becca collided soon after the start.  Shanlyn Bubbles checked off Alamo Mike on the first turn, checking Harper's Hand and Empty Chamber, and severely checking Alamo Mike which lost ground.  Empty Chamber raced wide in the home straight.

Shanlyn Bubbles was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg dislocated toe, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Alamo Mike was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg back muscle injury and an abrasion to the left hindleg, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Property Power.

Property Power was quick to begin.  Why Not Loz was slow to begin.  Checker Plate, Ebonique and Why Not Loz collided approaching the first turn, checking Why Not Loz.  Shadow Walker checked off Kimani on the first turn, checking Checker Plate, Ebonique, Why Not Hugh and Why Not Loz.  Ebonique and Why Not Hugh collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Ebonique was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms Jeanette Imlach, the trainer of Ebonique, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Gracie's Colour.

Gracie's Colour was slow to begin.  Ratajkowski and Siamese Dream collided soon after the start, checking Siamese Dream.  Betwixt checked off Cersei approaching the first turn.  Betwixt faltered on the first turn.  Cersei, Siamese Dream and Gracie's Colour collided approaching the second turn.  Cersei and Gracie's Colour collided on the second turn, checking Cersei.  Cersei and Siamese Dream collided approaching the third turn.  Gracie's Colour checked off Voluptuous Ruby on the home turn.

Betwixt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg flexor tendon injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Leopardstown.

Brindle Bay and Johnny Black were quick to begin.  Magenta Gold was slow to begin.  Light The Track, Dewana Special and Leopardstown collided approaching the first turn, checking Light The Track and Dewana Special.  Light The Track checked off Dewana Special approaching the second turn.  Dewana Special and Leopardstown collided approaching the third turn and again on the third turn, checking Leopardstown which lost ground.

Dewana Special was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg split webbing, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Leopardstown was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg hock and triangle injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Shot To Glory was quick to begin.  Autocrat and Buckle Up Spud collided soon after the start.  Rahni, Emily's Kitty and Minnie Wizard collided soon after the start, checking Rahni and Emily's Kitty.  Rahni and Emily's Kitty collided on the first turn, checking Emily's Kitty and Buckle Up Spud.  Rahni raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Treherne, the trainer of Kyrgios, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kyrgios last raced on 17 January 2018.  Mr Treherne stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left stopper tendon injury.
