Steward's Report
Mepunga Prue was quick to begin. Urana Vee Eight was slow to begin.
Zipping Archie and Rockstar Patriot collided soon after the start, checking Zipping Archie, Rockstar Patriot and Flying Flyer. Zipping Archie and Rockstar Patriot collided on the first turn, checking Rockstar Patriot and causing Urana Vee Eight to race wide. Mepunga Prue lost ground from the fourth turn. Zipping Archie eased and pulled up approaching the winning post, checking Flying Flyer, Cooper Scooper, Dyna Zad, Urana Vee Eight and Mepunga Prue.
Mepunga Prue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
Zipping Archie was vetted following the event and trainer Mr Glenn Rounds declined to have the greyhound revetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No veterinary stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Rounds, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Archie regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Zipping Archie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Rounds pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Archie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted
