Steward's Report

Redefined was a late scratching at 10:24AM due to weight variation +1.2kg (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Mr Pasquale Derubeis was fined the sum of $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Enchanting Image.

Boston You Essay stayed in the box at box rise and was very slow to begin (6L).

Bruree Jewel and Hugh Made Who collided soon after the start. Enchanting Image and Shakey Cougar collided several times approaching the winning post.

Boston You Essay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr A Paraskevas, the handler of Bright New Shine, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Bright New Shine last raced on 27 June, 2017. Mr Paraskevas stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a injury to both stoppers. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Bright New Shine trialled over the 300m from box three, weight 34.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 16.62, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Bright New Shine was cleared.
