Pre-race samples were taken from Hugo Linx and Quicksilver Hope.
Hot Jean was slow to begin. Koitsenko and Geopark Ruby collided soon after the start, checking Geopark Ruby. Koitsenko and Scott To Give collided approaching the first turn, checking Scott To Give. Hugo Linx and Pat Malone collided on the first turn, checking Hugo Linx. Quicksilver Hope lost ground on the home turn. Hugo Linx clipped the heels of Koitsenko in the home straight.
Quicksilver Hope was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right hindleg groin injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.
