Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Stolen.

Heartbreak Hermy was slow to begin.  Coronary Cloud and Splash Da Cash collided soon after the start.  Vanderville and Cyrus Rumble collided approaching the first turn.  Vanderville, Cyrus Rumble and Adala Boy collided on the first turn, checking Cyrus Rumble.  Cyrus Rumble and Stolen collided approaching the home turn.  Vanderville and Coronary Cloud collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Ellis, the trainer of the greyhound Vanderville, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering and in the home straight.  Vanderville was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to a right hindleg groin injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Vanderville with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Ellis pleaded guilty to the charge, Vanderville was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
