Steward's Report
Urban Image was quick to begin. Galloping Rokyto was slow to begin. Gene Man was very slow to begin (3 Lengths). Urban Image, Somerton May, Oni and Alonso Power collided soon after the start. Water Pistol, Somerton May and Galloping Rokyto collided on the first turn, checking Somerton May. Gene Man galloped on the heels of Col's Hope on the first turn. Oni and Alonso Power collided approaching the winning post. Urban Image failed to pursue the lure approaching the winning post.
Col's Hope was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Sciortino, the trainer of the greyhound Urban Image regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Urban Image was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had a papilloma on the left front paw, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Urban Image with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Sciortino pleaded not guilty to the charge, Urban Image was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
