Steward's Report
Stinga's Mate was slow to begin. Talanjee Chief and Thomeli Boy collided soon after the start. Joffa's Mate, Direct Flight and Sisco Dun collided approaching the first turn. Direct Flight checked off Sisco Dun on the first turn. Fast Izzi and Talanjee Chief collided on the first turn, checking Talanjee Chief, Thomeli Boy and Stinga's Mate. Direct Flight and Talanjee Chief collided approaching the home turn. Thomeli Skip and Fast Izzi collided approaching the winning post. Direct Flight marred Thomeli Boy approaching the winning post.
Direct Flight was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Patricia Smith, the trainer of the greyhound Direct Flight regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Direct Flight with marring. Mrs Patricia Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Direct Flight was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
