Flaming Elite was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Alan Bayliss, the trainer of the greyhound Flaming Elite.  Stewards deemed the performance of Flaming Elite unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Flaming Elite must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stinga's Mate was slow to begin.  Talanjee Chief and Thomeli Boy collided soon after the start.  Joffa's Mate, Direct Flight and Sisco Dun collided approaching the first turn.  Direct Flight checked off Sisco Dun on the first turn.  Fast Izzi and Talanjee Chief collided on the first turn, checking Talanjee Chief, Thomeli Boy and Stinga's Mate.  Direct Flight and Talanjee Chief collided approaching the home turn.  Thomeli Skip and Fast Izzi collided approaching the winning post.  Direct Flight marred Thomeli Boy approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Patricia Smith, the trainer of the greyhound Direct Flight regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Direct Flight with marring.  Mrs Patricia Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Direct Flight was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Captain Risky and Crackerjack Nath were quick to begin.  Zing Zang Zena and Scarlet Blu Boy were slow to begin.  Blue Hunter and Captain Risky collided on the first turn, checking Captain Risky.  Blue Hunter and Ace Ventura collided approaching the home turn.  Ace Ventura and Zing Zang Zena collided several times in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Caulfield, the trainer of Just Banji, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Just Banji last raced on 8 December 2017.  Mr Caulfield stated that the greyhound is resuming racing after a right hock injury.

Al's Luck was slow to begin.  Lektra Oscar and Circus Oasis collided approaching the first turn.  Lektra Oscar and Claretown Boris collided on the first turn.  Al's Luck raced wide approaching the home turn.  Just Banji raced wide on the home turn.

A sample was taken from Circus Oasis - winner of the event, in a track record time of 22:900.

Kilty Express checked off Dynamite Jackson soon after the start.  Just Tooie and My Mate Wally collided approaching the home turn.

Kilty Express, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Handler, Mr Dustin Drew, could offer no explanation for the greyhound's poor performance.  A sample was taken from Kilty Express - unplaced in the event.
