Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Jake a reserve in this event on 3rd January 2018, pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Manifold.
Werner Bale was slow to begin.
Dance And Sing, Slinky Inky and Spring To Wyn collided soon after the start checking Dance And Sing and Slinky Inky. Rostered On and Spring To Wyn collided approaching the first turn. Manifold and Spring To Wyn collided on the first turn checking Spring To Wyn. Beanbag and Right On Cue collided on the second turn checking Beanbag. Dance And Sing checked off Spring To Wyn on the second turn. Beanbag and Manifold collided on the third turn checking Beanbag. Right On Cue veered out and marred Manifold on the home turn. Dance And Sing, Slinky Inky and Beanbag collided on the home turn checking Slinky Inky. Werner Bale and Dance And Sing collided approaching the winning post.
Beanbag was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Right On Cue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist sprain, right quadriceps, pencil/whip and triangle injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs S. Thompson, the trainer of the greyhound Right On Cue regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Right On Cue with marring. Mrs Thompson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Right On Cue was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
