This meeting was deemed hot weather affected. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. Due to the temperature being significantly lower than predicted Stewards dispensed with the Hot Weather Policy prior to race 1.

Ronray Legend was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Flash Intention was very slow to begin (3L). Sable Sass crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Petra Allen, checking Petra Allen. Don't Quote Me and Petra Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Petra Allen. Sable Sass and Tiger Frost collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Petra Allen contacted the running rail entering the back straight.

Boil Over was quick to begin. Brindle Bay and Iris Allen collided on the first turn. Iris Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf and right back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr C. Capuano, the trainer of the greyhound Iris Allen regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Iris Aleen with marring. Mr Capuano pleaded guilty to the charge, Iris Allen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
