Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Steven Waycott, the trainer of Hard Wicket, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hard Wicket last raced on 17 August 2017. Mr Waycott stated the greyhound was resuming racing following a left front toe injury.
This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected", prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 35.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Platinum Impact.
Rockin' In and Platinum Impact collided soon after the start, checking Platinum Impact. Valdar Bale and Rockin' In collided approaching the first turn. Hard Wicket checked off Valdar Bale on the first turn. Hard Wicket and Plantinum Impact collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.
Hard Wicket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg groin and tail base injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.
