Steward's Report

My Mandara, Prince Cheviot and Team Son were slow to begin.  Freddy Perfect and Alannah's Gem collided approaching the first turn, checking Freddy Perfect.  Wicked Hillary and Prince Cheviot collided approaching the home turn, checking Prince Cheviot.  Alannah's Gem raced wide on the home turn.  Alannah's Gem and Prince Cheviot collided in the home straight. Prince Cheviot failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Patricia Smith, the trainer of the greyhound Prince Cheviot regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Prince Cheviot was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to a left hindleg back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Prince Cheviot with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Prince Cheviot was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Scarlet Blu Boy - the winner of the event.
