A pre-race sample was taken from Right Now.
More Moment, July Allen and Solar Mocha collided soon after the start. Right Now checked off Flash Henry in the back straight. Zipping Dash and Bumble Bee Bolto collided approaching the first turn. July Allen, Solar Mocha and Murrabit Betty collided on the first turn. Flash Henry, Zipping Dash and Bumble Bee Bolto collided on the first turn. More Moment eased on the first turn and shifted out, checking Murrabit Betty. Right Now raced wide on the second turn. Bumble Bee Bolto, More Moment and Zipping Dash came together approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Mugavin, the trainer of the greyhound More Moment, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. More Moment was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury and a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged More Moment with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Mugavin pleaded guilty to the charge, More Moment was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
