July Allen, Solar Mocha and Murrabit Betty collided on the first turn. Flash Henry, Zipping Dash and Bumble Bee Bolto collided on the first turn. More Moment eased on the first turn and shifted out, checking Murrabit Betty. Right Now raced wide on the second turn. Bumble Bee Bolto, More Moment and Zipping Dash came together approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Mugavin, the trainer of the greyhound More Moment, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. More Moment was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury and a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged More Moment with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Mugavin pleaded guilty to the charge, More Moment was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Certain Smile trialled over the 410m from box two, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 24.08, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5L. Certain Smile was cleared.
