Steward's Report
King Gibbo was a late scratching at 07:24 am due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr K Chivell, the trainer of Destini Supreme, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Destini Supreme last raced at Warrnambool on 22 June, 2017. Chivell stated that
Mr G Graham, trainer of Crash Reality, declared a new weight of 28.0 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(1). Crash Reality last raced at Warragul on 20 September, 2017 at 26.8 kgs.
Crash Reality, Destini Supreme and Tobias Kelton were slow to begin. Destini Supreme and Tobias Kelton collided soon after the start. Von Costa Kahn and Frisco Liz collided soon after the start. Crash Reality, Destini Supreme, Tobias Kelton and Odd Boots collided several times at the 250m mark. Destini Supreme and Von Costa Kahn collided several times at the 150m mark.
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
On Sunday, 17 September 2017, Stewards opened and adjourned an Inquiry in relation to the failure of greyhound "Harsh Miles" being caught following Race 1 at the Healesville meeting on 17 September, 2017. Stewards took evidence from licensed Handler, Ms Tamara Cornell and trainer of "Harsh Miles" - Mr. B Cook regarding the matter. Stewards concluded the Inquiry at today's meeting and following all evidence presented, Stewards fined Ms Tamara Cornell the sum of $100 for failing to catch "Harsh Miles" after being engaged by Mr. Cook to do so in Event 1 at Healesville on 17 September, 2017.
