Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Perfect Rider and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 5:02pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. T. Salpigtidis was fined the sum of $100.
A pre race sample was taken from Surf's Magic.
Bulk Cairns and Nicky Dal were slow to begin. Starlight Lucy and Chase On Case collided approaching the first turn. Surf's Magic and Bossy Caleb collided on the first turn checking Surf's Magic. Starlight Lucy and Surf's Magic collided approaching the home turn checking Starlight Lucy and Bulk Cairns. Bulk Cairns checked off Starlight Lucy approaching the home turn. Starlight Lucy and Chase's Case collided on the home turn.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Harper, the trainer of Greysynd Sofi regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Greysynd Sofi last raced on 2nd April 2017. Mr. Harper stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right metacarpal injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Greysynd Sofi trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 28.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.12. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.75 lengths. Greysynd Sofi was Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Benny's Entity trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 35.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.12, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.75 lengths. Benny's Entity was Cleared.
