A pre-race sample was taken from One Way Ticket.
One Way Ticket was slow to begin. Cawbourne Mav went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
One Way Ticket checked off Woodleigh Sal on the first turn. Hurricane Craig and Wendy Can't Run collided approaching the home turn severely checking Wendy Can't Run which fell as a result severely checking Woodleigh Sal and checking Money Dud which raced wide. Cawbourne Mav and Need A Zac collided approaching the home turn. Cawbourne Mav and Woodleigh Sal collided approaching the winning post.
Wendy Can't Run was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left triangle injury and an abrasion to the left hind foot, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs V. Sultana regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Hurricane Craig. Stewards directed that Hurricane Craig be boxed first in future events.
