Steward's Report
Don's Gas was slow to begin.
Bellum Girl and Scooby Scooby Do collided soon after the start, checking Bellum Girl, Terrigal Tornado and Scooby Scooby Do. Janray Tootsie and Bellum Girl collided at the 250m mark. Janray Squawker checked off Janray Tootsie approaching the 200m mark and crossed to the outside, colliding with Bellum Girl. Scooby Scooby Do and Jagged Ice collided at the 200m mark. Don's Gas and Janray Tootsie collided at the 100m mark. Bellum Girl eased approaching the winning post and collided with He's A Freebie.
Stewards spoke to Mr Kenneth Kubik, the trainer of the greyhound Bellum Girl, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Bellum Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury, a tarsal sprain of the right hock, and injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) and gastrocnemius (calf) muscles; a 14-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Bellum Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kubik pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bellum Girl was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
