Destini Cheetah, Belena Bold and Auburn Gal collided soon after the start, checking Destini Cheetah and Belena Bold. Miss Legality and Don's Machine collided approaching the first turn, checking Don's Machine. Don's Machine and Daintree Alice collided on the first turn, checking Daintree Alice. Belena Bold and Cavalry Rose collided in the home straight. Auburn Gal crossed to the inside in the home straight, checking Daintree Alice. Belena Bold raced wide in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Shaun Coulson,the trainer of Minnie Wizard, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Minnie Wizard last raced on 28 January 2017. Mr Coulson stated that the greyhound had changed kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Minnie Wizard trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 23.6kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.73, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.25L. Minnie Wizard was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Mousey McCoy trialled over the 400m from box three, weight 26.6kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.73, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.5L. Mousey McCoy was cleared.
