Apatchy Racer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle, left quadriceps and left pencil muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Mr. C. Kiernan, trainer of Apatchy Racer, advised Stewards that it was his intention to retire the greyhound from racing. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Trewin, trainer of Dyna Hinkley regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Dyna Hinkley last raced on 20th May 2017. Mr. Trewin stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left metacarpal injury. 

Sunningdale checked off Suspicious Lee on the first turn.  Dyna Hinkley crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking My Lil' Angel and Suspicious Lee. Sunningdale and Miss Zorro collided on the first turn, checking Miss Zorro and Mepunga Ted.
