Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Royal Bruno.
Mood Swings were slow to begin.
Macauliff and Big Skeeta collided on the first turn checking Big Skeeta which stumbled and lost ground. Macauliff, Mood Swings, Big Skeeta and Sooky Jooky raced wide in the home straight.
Big Skeeta was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right sesamoid injury and an abrasion to the left metacarpal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs L. Hall, the trainer of It Gets Better regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. It Gets Better last raced on 24th September 2017. Mrs Hall stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, It Gets Better trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 28.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 6th in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.86, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16 3/4 lengths. It Gets Better was Not Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr E. Lieshout, the trainer of Custom Mint regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Custom Mint last raced on 27th May 2017. Mr Lieshout stated that the greyhound had a change of kennels and a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Custom Mint trialled over the 400mtrs from box 2, weight 30.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 5th in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.86, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16 lengths. Custom Mint was Cleared.
