Zipping Riot and Dyna Benny were slow to begin.
Algablew and Saddle Tank collided soon after the start. Saddle Tank checked off Tiza Fabio soon after the start. Zipping Riot and Tiza Fabio collided approaching the first turn. Algablew and Saddle Tank collided approaching the first turn, causing Saddle Tank to race wide. Zipping Riot, No Excuse and Dyna Benny collided on the first turn, checking No Excuse. Algablew and No Excuse collided approaching the second turn. Dyna Benny and Saddle Tank collided entering the back straight and again in the back straight. Zipping Riot and Xera Bale collided approaching the home turn.
No Excuse was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gastrocnemius (calf) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
