Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Toner the trainer of Tax Relief regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tax Relief last raced on 22/05/17. Mr. Toner stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell. Mr. Toner declared a new weight of 33.7kg for the greyhound in accordance wtih GAR 39(2). Tax Relief last raced at 32.3kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Tax Relief.
Shamus Mac, Apila Cash and Woodleigh Bond were slow to begin. Boom Flash was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Tax Relief and Valkyrie Rose collided on the first turn. Tax Relief, Valkyrie Rose and Chain Smoker collided in the back straight checking all three greyhounds and causing Valkyrie Rose to gallop on Tax Relief, Tax Relief subsequently faltered and tailed off. Valkyrie Rose was checked off Apila Cash on the second turn. Shamus Mac raced wide on the second turn and the home turn.
Tax Relief was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
