Steward's Report
Donna O'Muffin was a late scratching at 6.12pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Kouta And Cream was a late scratching at 5.45pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration and infection to the left cavdal hip. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Tory's Rocket was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
My Hardaway Hana and Louie The Lip collided soon after the start. My Hardaway Hana and Tansy Girl collided on the first turn. Tory's Rocket brushed the running rail on the first turn. Louie The Lip eased approaching the home turn. Tory's Rocket and Tansy Girl collided entering the home straight. My Hardaway Hana and Louie the Lip collided approaching the winning post.
Louie The Lip was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms K. Smyth, the trainer of the greyhound Louie The Lip regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Louie The Lip with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Smyth pleaded guilty to the charge, Louie The Lip was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
