Steward's Report
The start was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to an operational matter with the parade official.
Kalani Klare was quick to begin. Allen Sharpie and Squizzy Buzzard were slow to begin. Isen Allen and Slipaway Bolt collided soon after the start. Jumbo Bale and Allen Sharpie collided soon after the start. Jumbo Bale and Squizzy Buzzard collided approaching the first turn. Isen Allen, Slipaway Bolt, Six Green Thumbs, Jumbo Bale and Squizzy Buzzard collided on the first turn, causing Squizzy Buzzard to fall as a result.
Squizzy Buzzard was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left wrist, and was humanely euthanased.
Stewards inspected the racing surface at turn one after Squizzy Buzzard fell during the running of this event. The racing surface was fine, safe and deemed suitable for racing.
