Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Captain Marvel.
Abyssal and Chavasse were quick to begin. Bolt Power, Captain Marvel and Louie Allen were slow to begin. Glenda Kingy and Far Sighted collided approaching the first turn. Chavasse and Melissa Lee collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Abyssal and Glenda Kingy collided approaching the home turn. Bolt Power and Louie Allen collided approaching the home turn. Far Sighted eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Brennan, the owner of the greyhound Far Sighted regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Far Sighted was vetted and re-vetted following Race 7. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left and right hind legs and a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Far Sighted with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Brennan pleaded guilty to the charge, Far Sighted was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
