On The Runway was a late scratching at 2.28pm due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Spider Regis, Awesome Shep and Zipping Scout collided soon after the start, checking Awesome Shep.  Lost Love and Miss Peanut collided on the first turn.  Lost Love checked off Zipping Scout approaching the home turn, checking Spider Regis.

Zipping Lance was slow to begin.  Apache Bro, Smashing Serena and Fast Izzi collided approaching the first turn.  Cartwheel Chloe and Apache Bro collided approaching the first turn.  Apache Bro checked off Smashing Serena on the first turn.  Fast Izzi and Fleet Trades collided on the first turn.  Dorrigo Bale and Smashing Serena collided several times approaching the home turn, checking Dorrigo Bale.  Dorrigo Bale and Ark Lightning collided on the home turn, causing Ark Lightning to hit the running rail.  Zipping Lance shifted out and collided with Fast Izzi on the home turn.  Zipping Lance and Fast Izzi collided several times in the home straight.  Zipping Lance, Fast Izzi and Fleet Trades collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards issued a warning to L Fisher, the trainer of Smashing Serena regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Abyssal and Chavasse were quick to begin.  Bolt Power, Captain Marvel and Louie Allen were slow to begin.  Glenda Kingy and Far Sighted collided approaching the first turn.  Chavasse and Melissa Lee collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Abyssal and Glenda Kingy collided approaching the home turn.  Bolt Power and Louie Allen collided approaching the home turn.  Far Sighted eased approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Brennan, the owner of the greyhound Far Sighted regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Far Sighted was vetted and re-vetted following Race 7.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left and right hind legs and a 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Far Sighted with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr.  Brennan pleaded guilty to the charge, Far Sighted was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Myrniong Cosmo was quick to begin.  Honestly Bob, Coolan Flash and Mr. No Worries were slow to begin.  Myrniong Cosmo crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Destini Delta and Fawn Pursuit.  Mr. No Worries crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Fawn Pursuit and Mr. No Worries collided on the first turn.  Honestly Bob checked off Myrniong Cosmo approaching the home turn, checking Swift Trent.

The start was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to an operational matter with the parade official.

Kalani Klare was quick to begin.  Allen Sharpie and Squizzy Buzzard were slow to begin.  Isen Allen and Slipaway Bolt collided soon after the start.  Jumbo Bale and Allen Sharpie collided soon after the start.  Jumbo Bale and Squizzy Buzzard collided approaching the first turn.  Isen Allen, Slipaway Bolt, Six Green Thumbs, Jumbo Bale and Squizzy Buzzard collided on the first turn, causing Squizzy Buzzard to fall as a result.

Squizzy Buzzard was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left wrist, and was humanely euthanased.

Stewards inspected the racing surface at turn one after Squizzy Buzzard fell during the running of this event.  The racing surface was fine, safe and deemed suitable for racing.

Chevsta was a late scratching at 9.01am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Greg Schofield, the trainer of Nangar Range regarding his failure to present his greyhound by the appointed close of kennelling this evening. Mr Schofield acknowledged an offence under GAR 31 and after hearing submissions on penalty, a fine of $50 was imposed. 

Alpha Aion and Meehan Sox collided soon after the start.  Alpha Aion, Anustar and Lochinvar Dash collided on the first turn, checking Alpha Aion and Anustar.  Alpha Aion checked off Lochinvar Dash entering the back straight.  Alpha Aion and Meehan Sox collided on the third turn, checking Meehan Sox.  Nangar Range raced wide in the home straight.

Quick Session was quick to begin.  Bundarra Magic checked off Don Lesta approaching the first turn.  Quick Session and Coreone King collided on the first turn, checking Quick Session. Bundarra Magic checked off Dimitri Bale approaching the home turn.  Quick Session checked off Petadale on the home turn.  Dimitri Bale and Quick Session collided in the home straight.

Quedos was slow to begin.  Quedos checked off Kiwi Collision soon after the start.  Tiggerlong Boo checked off Kiwi Collision on the first turn.  Holloway, Lochinvar Adore, Kingsley Boy and Kiwi Collision collided on the first turn, checking Kiwi Collision.  Wings For Woody checked off Kiwi Collision approaching the home turn, checking Quedos.  Tiggerlong Boo and Kiwi Collision collided approaching the home turn.

Quedos was vetted following the event after failing to run into the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left foreleg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Penny Worth was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Elliott, the handler of Meehan Dan regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Meehan Dan last raced on 2nd July, 2017.  Mrs. Elliott stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a stress fracture to the right metacarpal.

Myrtle Grange and Scott Pizzazz collided soon after the start.  Meehan Dan checked off Ima Necromancer on the first turn, severely checking Unlocked.
