Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Anthony Sacco, the trainer of Ginza Lion, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ginza Lion last raced on 26 July 2017. Mr Sacco stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a torn right back muscle.
Ms Tina Womann, trainer of Uni Allen, declared a new weight of 30.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Uni Allen last raced at 29.7 kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Penny Worth.
Demon Jesse was slow to begin. Early Storm checked off Penny Worth approaching the first turn. Rosie Sprite checked off Ginza Lion on the first turn. Ginza Lion checked off Drysdale Doll on the first turn. Ginza Lion checked off Demon Jesse approaching the home turn. Ginza Lion raced wide on the home turn. Uni Allen and Scott Pizzazz collided on the home turn. Uni Allen and Drysdale Doll collided several times in the home straight.
Ginza Lion was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg back muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
