Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Hendy, the trainer of the greyhound Hillbilly Boy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Hillbilly Boy with marring. Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Hillbilly Boy was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Trethowan, trainer of Jack Cherry, in regards to the greyhound being assessed for an early race request.  Prior to the event Club Veterinarian Dr S Karamatic assessed Jack Cherry for an early race request and approved the application. Jack Cherry was vetted prior to the event and was passed fit to race.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Trethowan, the trainer of Miracle Cherry regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miracle Cherry last raced on 12th July 2017. Mr. Trethowan stated that  he greyhound was returning from being on season.

Emma's Sparrow and Miracle Cherry were slow to begin.

Meeting Comments:-

Satisfactory Trial Results - Blue Berty trialled over the 425mt from box 3, weight 25.6 kg's, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.17, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4L. Blue Berty was cleared. Blue Berty who had previously been approved to race in full blinkers, was cleared to race with a right side only blinker.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Stanton, the trainer of Seabrook Eb regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Seabrook Eb last raced on 4th January 2017. Mr. Stanton stated that the greyhound was returning to race after suffering a fractured shoulder Pursuant to GAR 77A, Seabrook Eb trialled over the 425mt from box 8, weight 27.7 kg's,  the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.17, the greyhound won by a margin of 2L. Seabrook Eb was cleared.
