Stewards spoke to Ms N Stanton, the handler of the greyhound Spritely Bella regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Spritely Bella with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Stanton pleaded guilty to the charge, Spritely Bella was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr David Good, the trainer of Tonk's Treasure, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tonk's Treasure last raced on 5th June, 2017. Mr Good stated that Tonk's Treasure was returning to race after suffering a fractured fibula.
